Desparate To Make The Right Choice For My Esteem

Urgent Advice Required

Own an Esteem VX
Tyres need to be replaced immediately
Currently on MRF 155/80/13 stock radials
Wants Eagle F1, But shocked to find its quality is bad
Loves Michelin Tyres (for no reason, probably the french name)
Michelin Pilot Preceda 185/60/14 looks good to me, does anyone have any experience on that??
Getting confused on the choice of alloys (Aura or HR)
HR is really good, but it is Taiwan made, so not sure about quality
But dealer insists they are great
Aura is dull & boring

Please help me fast...thanks

Get Yokohama ES100 tires. They cost around 2900 per tire and are pretty good.
About the wheels, HR,Hijoin,League, blah blah....all are taiwan/china made and make good VFM. No big deal. Get the correct design to suit the car.

I think the tire size should be195/50/R15 or 185/55/R15

esteemlover thats perfect choice, go ahead with the 14inch HRs and the pilot precedias, you will not be dissappointed in any way.

Thanks, Autopsyche....its my favorite too.

i was wondering why people are apprehensive when choosing alloys (Imp/Ind) ? Has anyone had a bad experience with these ??? even our steel rims do not crack under normal driving conditions (Indian conditions). alloys are supposed to be stronger.

hey autopsyche,
i like ur signature too.. and thats exactly what i do in the highway...0-60 in 1st gear, 60-90 in 2nd gear, 90-130 in 3rd gear & 130-160/165 in 4th gear & then cruise...sometimes u may not feel the road at all....but thats a chance i am willing to take...and honestly no other car could try this..

yes i did .....and i made a wise choice....u know what ??? i didn't waste money on fancy tires & wheels...instead i got myself michelin 175/70/R13 on my original rims, which cost me 10,250 after the trade in for my old tyres & i spent the remaining 20ks on getting a loan repaid & getting the wife & kids some good stuff, which they like & i am proud of that..after all buying alloys & fancy tyres is only dressing up ur car...as long as i can still get my baby upto 160 without any hiccups....i am happy..

p.s.
what car do u drive ????

cheers

Mine is still stock, I am looking forward to upgrade the tires. I also had a plan to upgrade to alloys, but I dropped it later.

Any idea which all good brands are available at 185/65R13 size or 175/70R13 size?

I wanted Potenza GIII but they are not available in those sizes.

Please let me know about the contestants you had..
