Baleno Wheel thread
(
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/tyre-alloy-wheel-section/17123-baleno-wheel-thread.html)
Hi guys,
this is my first post and I would just like to find out.......... what are the largest size alloys and tyres that I can use without ANY modifications on the Baleno. I met a dealer of alloy wheels here in Secunderabad who told me that I could use 205/50-R15s without them touching the insides of the wheel wells. He also suggested that I use 195/60 tyres on 14" wheels. This leads me to believe that maybe 15" wheels might not be such a good idea since the dealer seemed reluctant to recommend those. I presently have the 13" 5-spoke OEM alloys shod with original Bridgestone S248 165/80 rubber.
Also, is there any aftermarket climate-control available for the Baleno ???
Thanks in advance for all inputs.........cheers
All three sizes mentioned in your post, including your stock one, are used on Balenos without any hassle.
I have used Appolo Acelere " 205 / 60 R 13 " on the stock rims.. was told that the i can change the mags later.. would that be good enuf? or is it not on the specs range ?

I don't think it is possible to have the climate control as an after-market fitment.
Good to see a tyre dealer suggest the best upsize 195/60-14 ....
Thanks a lot guys for the feedback...... seems I'll go for 14" upgrade. Besides the price difference between 14 and 15-inchers(incl. tyres) works out to more than 15k as per the prices I found.
Looks like I'll have to live with the AC instead of the CC...... :-), not that I'm complaining. Except for the Bolero, I think this is the finest AC in the country.
What tyres would you all suggest......... Michelin Certis ?????
If you want to keep your OEM rims, you can fit 175/70 tyres on them, with imperceptible change in OD and hence no odometer error.

i dont think you will get Michelin Certis now. Even if you do, they will be old stocks. Michelin has switched to XM1 Energy. They are as good if not better than certis, but if you are planning on changing to 14" alloys, then i would suggest Pilot Precidas, they are killer tyres. You will not regret buying them.
p.s. what do you plan to do with your 13" radials ? :)
here we booked for baleno lxi and the dealership says warranty will be void if we install alloys other than tht come under maruti genuine accessory....warranty will be void even if we opt for alloys of same spec...any truth??
:OTwhere can i check warranty terms for a maruti car?

hi....... thanks for the input...... will check out the precidas. Am told will get max 5000 bucks for the OEM alloys and nothing at all for the tyres...... got about 25,000 km on them but in good shape as I rotate them regularly.

Correct....... f you install any aftermarket items, they can avoid the warranty. Only way out is to buy from Maruti directly in which case they are MGA and under warranty. You can find out about the terms in the service manual with the car.

I have installed aftermarket alloys and 185/65 R14 rubber and my Baleno is fully suppported under warranty.....do a thing..dont ask the sales guy but ask the service guy!!!..cause it the workshop manager who will be servicing your car once you have bought it..

Really depends what you want..if you are concerned with Grip only...just keep your original alloys and install 185/70R13 tubeless tyres on them...this is the cheapest upgrade.... that should help the grip cause at least 80%... of course if you want looks than you must look out for bigger rims..
Ashoka wheels in minister road / Secunderabad can give you lot of tyre choices.. I purchased my alloys from him
so, have you made up your mind yet ? :)
195/55/r15 is also good...
if 14'' then go with 185/60/r14.... they come with the vxi model so warranty wont be void
