Re: All-Terrain Tyres for the Tata Hexa

Hi All. I own Tata Hexa 4x4 XT 2019 which has stock 235/65 R17 tyres. I wish to change them to the same dimesion tyres. Which one do you recommend. I drive 60% in city and 40% in mountains, no serious off roading. I am worried about snow and slush though.

I use Apollo Apterra AT2 on my Gypsy. These are M+S Snow rated all-weather tyres with a rubber compound that will not harden in low temperatures (better than all-season variety). In summer driving also they provide a soft and compliant ride with all the benefits of an AT tyre. And none of the weakness of the weak Yoko sidewalls.

I love mine and intend to plonk new ones in the next SUV I get from the showroom itself whenever I buy it. Recently did a 8000km ride to Ladhak on them and they performed very well.

Re: All-Terrain Tyres for the Tata Hexa

My 2019 model Hexa gas been driven 41K kms on stock tyres. The tyres have at their end of life and need immediate replacement. My drive is mixed with both on good highways as well bad to no road conditions. Also I am planning a road trip to Ladakh somewhere around May or June in next year which is also a factor for selection of right tyres. Which are the best suitable options available in the market currently for tyre size of 235/65 R17.

Re: All-Terrain Tyres for the Tata Hexa

Replaced old tyres with Michelin LTX Trail. Got a good deal on these tyres at Rs.14000/- including WA and WB. I have driven 1.5K on these tyres and really happy with performance of these tyres. Only niggle that they get little noisy above the speed of 100kmph though not a deal breaker for me.

Re: All-Terrain Tyres for the Tata Hexa

I have the Hexa XT 2017 with 235/55 R19. Wanting to get new tyres as the old ones are giving trouble( sidewall deterioration tho the thread is still good at 35k). Any suggestions for which brand to go for? Looking for primary onroad usage. Thanks

Re: All-Terrain Tyres for the Tata Hexa

Hello: Incidentally, I too am looking for new set of tyres for my Hexa XTA. OE 235/55-R19 MRF Wanderers lasted for 6 years, 50000 kms and look good for another 10-15k kms, but I guess its time to change them due to age (micro cracks on side walls, punctures are a bit too frequent etc). I called a few tyre suppliers in Pune and got options for Yokohama (Rs 18.5k per piece), Goodyear (16k per piece), Bridgestones (awaiting price) and MRF Wanderers (13.5 k per piece).

My experience with OE tyres has been pretty good and I am inclined to buy MRF's. No experience with Yokohama's on any of our family cars and I see mixed reviews on this thread and elsewhere. I am going to go and check all 4 brands but am about 80% sure that I will go for MRF's.
