185/60 Bridgestone G3 tubeless- 3100
195/60 Bridgestone G3 Tubeless- 3750
185/60 Michelin Xm1 tubeless- 3670

Both are good tyres.....GIII is very grippy but noisy at high speeds...Michelin is all about ride comfort n minimum road noise

dont go for the 185/60-14. I had told you before that this is the wrong size.

The 195/60-14 gives much better grip. the 185/65-14 is actually the perfect size for the 5.5J alloy rims of the sfxi.

If you are looking for more ride comfort with decent grip then 185/65-14 michelin XM-1.

If it's more grip and decent ride then the 195/60-14 is very good. Go for the Michelin energy XM1 or the bridgestone turanza ER-60.

I have the 195/60-14 turanza for the last 7 months and i found them to be very good tyres.

The lancer has an inherent tyre noise problem. The RE-88 which are the OE's and the potenza G3 both accentuate the tyre noise on the lancer. Would suggest you to avoid the G3 as it can get really irritating on long drives with the droning noise significant in the cabin.

The turanza's are more towards comfort and the tyre noise is much lesser than the G3 and the re88.

Yes.

I would stay away given their high-road noise problem which in your case would be exaggerated even further. Also the sidewalls are quite weak so that leads to frequent cuts.

ok now which among bridgestone Turanze ER60

195/60 R14
185/60 R14

and Michelin Xm1

185/65 R14
185/60 R14

I am more inclined towards 185/65 or 195/60 to fill the tyre wells but I am not much educated on tyres.

the average price for these tyres were quoted by the dealers at 3500Rs. Is that a good price?

I would go for 185/65 or 195/60 Michelin Energy XM1's if the Turanza's cost the same as them since the Michelin's are vastly superior to the Bridgestone's.

However do try & bargain the price down to around 3200-3300 which will make them a very good deal.

195/60-14 with your eyes closed. Your choice on the brands. both of them are good.

I have the turanzas and am very happy.

185/65-14 will fill the wheels better but the 195's give better grip.

You will not get the turanzas in 185/65-14.

@kpzen: SFXi comes with 185/60-14. but this is not the correct size and has speedo error as well as low ground clearance.

so what will 185/65 do compared to 195/60?

Vid: I also read one of your posts which says some owners reported more tyre wear on michelin. Is this true? I am getting both Michelin XM1 and bridgestone turanza ER-60 for the same price (almost)

@IGRAGHAVA: why do you think Michelin are much better than Bridgestones? I have read various of your old posts suggesting the same? can you please throw more light on these?

My priorities are in this order

1. Road noise
2. Ride comfort
3. Handling and grip

As kpzen says your priorities are the answer. Since your priority is road noise and ride comfort go for the 185/65-14.

The michelins are of a softer compound hence wear out a tad quicker then the bridgestones.

The Michelins being softer will provide better ride comfort. I cant comment on the road noise of the michelins as I havent sat in a lancer with those tyres. The turanzas had much lesser noise than the potenza re88's.

The 185's will not affect your mileage as well. Also since the sfxi rim is 5.5J 195 is a borderline case.

If you decide on 185/65-14 you have only the Michelin's.
