I would want to stick to stock wheels until the alloy wheels are either factory fitted or at least OEM bought directly from the dealer.
Welcome. Yes, sticking to the stock wheels is the safest option. However, if you upgrade to better quality alloy wheels like Momo or OZ staying within the recommended wheel size by the manufacturer, it can improve the performance and may be of better quality than OEM wheels! There have been horror stories of OEM wheels failing as well. For e.g. I had heard about one alloy wheel model of XUV 500 breaking often!

Personally, I think the best wheels come from OZ, Cromodora, Speedline Corse (Italy), BBS, Borbet (Germany and Japan), Team Dynamics, Compomotive (UK), Enkei, Rays/Volk (Japan), and HRE, CCW (US). Each of these brands is either a major OEM supplier, or a recognised name in motorsport. In addition, Japan has a few boutique makers, as does the US and EU.
Thank you for the valuable information. I admit that my knowledge is limited to the research done when I was looking to upgrade for my BMW 3 series and I found a good deal on MSW by OZ Racing. Here is a video of the same:

I like the civic alloy wheels, how much would be the cost and where to get.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Those are Advan GT, they are like 4-5 lakhs for a set, i don't think there are any Yokohama/Advan distributors who will get them here, best way to buy them is probably from a website which will ship them to India.

I mostly like 5 spokes so its between the Advan GT for track and the Work VS KF or Weds kranze cerberus 2 for the hot bois show builds( this preference also changes every month )

Thanks,
Thank you for your input. My research was based on the options available for my car in India. I did not come across shops or distributors selling Japanese alloys and hence didn't include them in the list.

Reviews of aftermarket alloys available in India

Hey folks, I searched for reviews on aftermarket alloys available in India. The thread I got was old, like 7 years last post old. I am in the market looking to replace my soon to be received Seltos's factory fitted alloys (the 16" factory fitted alloys design is not of my taste). Enquired around some shops, and have found Momo, Neo Wheels, Onyx, HRS alloy wheels. I have searched for reviews but nothing convincing. People who have installed aftermarket alloys on your ride, what's the verdict?
1. Is it worth it?
2. How is the durability considering our pothole filled roads.
3. What are the brands to avoid and what are the preferred brands?
4. Anything else to look out for while buying aftermarket alloys?

Thanks!

Re: Reviews of aftermarket alloys available in India

Simply make sure you select the correct width and offset for your rims and ensure that they are not heavier than stock ones and you should be good

Width and offset can be found easily. Any idea where can I find the weight?

Re: Understanding Alloy Wheels (width, PCD, offset etc.)

Hello,

I have Kia carens 1.5 NA model with 15" wheel, now the OEM steel rims are 15" inch 6j et 43, i have got it replace with Neo alloys of 15" inch 6.5j et 20, now because of this the rims have a positive scrub radius and it's protruding out of the wheel arch a bit maybe 25-26 mm.

Though it's looking very nice, i am worried will it hamper the suspension or any other part of the vehicle. The tyres are same OEM 195/65 r15.

Cheers....

Hello,

Thanks for the reply, but wheel size remains same as OEM, can you please explain in detail if possible.

Doesn't matter. 43 to 20 offset is not a small number.
