Michelin Australia doesn't mention this size. Did you mean 165/65/R13, or maybe your tyres are Japanese? I think 165/60/R13 will be fine when the roads are good, but one needs to be cautious on bad roads in order to avoid tyre/wheel damage.
Another interesting detail that I just noticed in the Michelin Australia website is the recommended rim widths. For 155/70 R13 tyres that I have, the minimum/optimum/maximum rim widths mentioned are 4J/4.5J/5J respectively. Whereas the carbibles website has 4.5J/6J as min/max for the same tyres. I have always wondered why Hyundai used 4J rims for the stock 155/70 tyres, since the rim width is below minimum as per the carbibles website. But 4J rims would definitely be below minimum width for 165/60 tyres, so I hope your cousin has at least 4.5J.
I have 5J alloys, so I am presently on the upper limit as per Michelin Aus. Perhaps I should go for 165/65 R13 tyres next time if my alloys will permit them without fouling. The consensus in favour of the Energy XM1 seems to be very strong; so I will definitely give it a shot next time.

:Cheering: X3 cheers for rks. 165/65-13 as mentioned by KP is indeed the correct size for the santro. They shouldn't foul in anyway. Dont forget to get the aligment done as well as you are upsizing.

agree:
They are, indeed, the correct upsize. Been using them on my Santro for 2 years, and am very satisfied. No fouling or scraping in any way, even while heavily loaded.
rks
5J alloys would be a perfect match for 165/65-13 tires.
Dont think it will scrape or touch anywhere unless the alloy's offset is way out of limits..
