Doubtful of my WagonR front-left tyre

My new WagonR bought some months ago.
Yesterday the mechanic said air is not being filled into the front-left tyre maybe a puncture. I didnt have time so replaced it with my spare tyre.
The first thing I immediately noticed was that the spare looked in better shape and size than the other front-right tyre. Why ?
The front-right tyre looked as if it wasnt able to bear the weight of the machine and the (spare, but now)front-left tyre looked just fine.
By the way, the front-right tyre's valve was gone and got it replaced/repaired from a local mechanic.
Two questions:
1. Can I claim warranty for the tube now, since the valve had to be replaced so soon.
2. Attaching the pics of my front-right tyre. Does it look good ? Is this how it usually should be ? The slight bulge in the tyre when seen from the front disturbs me :(

Sorry for those huge-size images, but I really wanted to know if this is how it usually should look.

Let me know.
Enjoy,

Enjoyed those huge pictures.

Go to your dealer and ask them to open and check that tube. Do not take it to any tyre repair shop. Your dealer will take that as an excuse. If found faulty, they'll change it.

That looks as if it were a low profile tyre - especially looking from ground-up. While you're at it, see if those shouldnt be replaced with Bridgestones from the dealer

Yes they are..!!
Sidewall of stock Wagon R tyre is lesser than a 205/50 tyre

Same size is on the Estilo. My friend keeps asking me if they are flat as their profile is so low.

Not a problem at all. You could try for the warranty as your warranty booklet clearly mentions the tyres are under warranty and it also has the make of the tyre printed on the warranty.

Ok... that bulge in the front tyre is definitely a problem. You should immediately take it to the dealer. If you are not satisfied you may think of approaching JK Tyres directly, with the pic of that hideous bulge. The tyre looks new (obviously, its "some" months old, right?) from the condition of the treads, so this is unacceptable. This is a manufacturing defect. The tyre's sidewall reinforcing structure (steel) at that point seems to have given up. That is why it looks swollen. It can also prove dangerous if you keep driving.

However I do not think anything can be done about that tube. You should not have changed the valve body on your own. You should have simply taken it to the dealer and asked for a replacement under manufacturing defect. Once you have made those alterations to it the warranty is anyhow void on the tube (only tube, not the tyre).

That is a tyre bulge, which means that the tyre has failed. Kindly go to your dealer who'll in all probability guide you to the Tyre company's regional office who can replace the tyre for you.

Kindly do not drive around for long on this damaged tyre, it can be dangerous.

Hi,
I have an year ( one year + 20 days exactly ) old wagonR VXI and my all tyres ( my stock is JK ) are looking like the same in the picture included by the author of this thread.

First i feel that it will be like that only and now only i feel that it is the problem.

With this only i did the bangalore - chennai trip this weekend and i did that in 4 hours from bangalore to chennai and 5 hours from chennai to bangalore and i was doing 125 kmph with that tyres.

God... This weekend I go the dealer for this .

One more question, mine is year+ old and would the tyres come under warrenty now also ?

with the stock rim can I go for tubeless tyres or shall I have to change the rims also for that ?

experts put your suggestions please.

As pointed out, you may not be able to claim warranty for the tube. And it is quite possible that because of the tube valve failure, your car may have been running on low pressure at the front right tyre, which in turn might have caused the tyre sidewall failure. I hope you are using at least the recommended tyre pressures for your car and checking the pressures regularly. The tyre manufacturer only guarantees against manufacturing defects. In your case it may be difficult to convince them of such a defect, although they may still accept your claim as a gesture of good will.

Looks like Wagon R Lxi with stock JK 145/70/R13 tyres....and they look normal to me. The slight bulge is where the tyre touches the ground and the bulge is bigger on the Front tyres because of the engine weight. If the bulge is abnormal you can contact the dealer, because tyres are under seperate warranty, but not the tubes.

Mark that bulge which everyone here is suspecting as a defect with a chalk and move your vehicle by a feet, so that the same bulge position come on the upper side.

Do you see a bulge now ???, if yes, the tyre is defective but if the bulge is again at the bottom near the surface, its most probably due to low pressure or the weight of engine on the front which is normal.

Its definatley a problem.. Thats a tire bulge and generally air is trapped inside the bulge. If you noticed the bulge keeps on increasing by the rotation/usage.. i had seen them in heavy vehicles.. The tire should be replaced immediately as it is dangerous moreover it is on front...

dadu, lol thats a defect buddy. its a localized swelling as can be seen in the pic. the steel belts (at least one of them) has in all probability given away and hence the bulge.

if driven at high speeds or for longer duration the tyre may burst all of a sudden either because the rubber at that position will burst open due to the pressure thus exposing the tube or else the adjacent steel belts will also snap thus all of a sudden rendering the tyre dimensions useless. This can be hugely dangerous.

But can someone tell us if there is a way to find out if alignment is out. I heard the following points about it. I think the car gives feedback itself, when the alignment is out but I need to know if there is any other way around?
