Tyre UP-One Size 0f 155/70 R13 to 175/55 R14 or 185/50 R14 availability in chennai?

Hi,
Iam looking to Upsize by ONE INCH from R13 to R14 for my Santro.
So Iam looking for tyres with 175/55(60) R14 or 185/50(55) R14. Anybody can help me where to find this in chennai? and also the price for five of these.Iam looking for Pirelli/Michelin/Yokohama low profile ultra performance tyres. If any help me....Currently I have 155/70 R13 on it.

thanks & Regards,
Rajeev.R.S.

Correct upsize for 14" in Santro is 195/50 R14, otherwise stick to 13"...

Options in 13 inches are 165/65 R13, 175/60 R13, 185/60 R13

Hi roy,
But wont the 195 seem too awkward for the santro...Will there be any interference with the wheel well??? i hope it will, because it seems pretty wide enough almost 40mm i.e. 4cm wider than the stock. Any modifications needed on suspension etc???

Thanks
Rajeev

I told about ideal upgrade which will not hamper the speedo and suspension...195 will be wider no doubt and will definitely look wider but there is hardly any error (0.62% only)...
My personal suggession would be for 13 inches (165/65 or 175/60)...

Anyway do send a PM to iraghava, he can guide you well with the upgrades...

Hi Rajeev,
I too agree with abhi as i got my stock 12" wheel and 145/80 R12 Bridgestone tires upsized to 13" alloys and 165/65 R13 Michelin XM1 for my alto vxi. Initially thought of 155mm but went for 165mm and the driving comfort and grips too are quite great.

165/65/R13 or 175/60/R13.
If the size is available, source 165/60/R14.

Rajeev - Finding the 195/50 R14 will be a challange since very few companies actually make them.

And I too would advise you stick to 165/175/185 R13's since they'll be available more easily to you.

Go to Siremull Hirachand & Co. located at Greams road. Ph: 044 - 2829 4589 / 0806.

I picked up my set of michelin's for a very good price from them last year. Ask for deepak (owner) and say you were referred by me. He will recognise me if u mention that I have a pearl silver esteem.

They stock almost every tire brand and most alloy wheel brands too. They do a very good wheel alignment and balancing job also. I'd vouch for them anyday.

P.S. He also can fill ur tires with nitrogen (search the forum for related threads).

Hi Rajeev, done with your tires yet ? My Alto used to ride on 145/80xR12s, & I switched to Goodyear 165/65xR13s a few months back. But I was having slow puncture like issues & yesterday, having come to my wits end, I went to the TyreStore on Greams Road & changed to Yokohama 175/60xR13 A539s With the 175s there is some rubbing but it's only when you're turning into, or off, a steep ramp or something. You're best bets with 14" rims are 175/55xR14s (Yokohama AS01) or 185/50xR14s (Yokohama A539). I'm not sure about the wheel well of the Santro, but I think the 185s could 'rub' a tad ! Could you post pictures & comments once you're done ? I'm planning to switch to 14" rims too...
