Mahindra Bolero : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Guys , I need to upsize on my bolero ... wats teh suggestions !!!

Thinking of hyper black alloys to go with it and maybe get it to look a bit more macho ..

Black alloys look good with any colour and almost any car. More so on SUVs. If im correct she runs on 215/75/R15s. Upsizing is good but dont go over board because fitting tyres that are much wider than recommended may actually be dangerous, in the rains it may result to Auqaplanning, poor performance and may even not provide the needed traction.
Methinks, 225/75/15 or 225/70/15 should suffice. Ideally one should upsize to the next or the next to next upsize as a thumb rule, never more unless mods are made and everything calculated.
But our tyre expert Ishan-Iraghava-Tyrewalla should be giving you better advice

255/70/R15 would be a good upsize to consider. And yeah as V-16 said hyper black would do justice to any shade.

I'd prefer chrome rims for a Bolero. What colour is it anyway? And what's the stock footwear spec?

Chrome rims.. on a Green vehicle? wow I would prefer hyper silver or Black alloys.

I have driven by Mahindra Bolero SLX for 22,000 kms. It is early to change tyres but I do not like the ride and handling of the CEAT radials that came in it as OE.

And there are two many punctures already in all tyres, nails, acacia thorns offroad.

My travelling pattern is 80 % on road
10 % on bad rural roads
10 % off road

The tyre size is 215/70/R15.

Which should be the new tyres on it.

Bridestone Dueler 689

or
MRF Wanderer

Will the gearing become tall if 235/70/R15 is installed ? Is there enough gap in the fenders to accomodate this larger tyre or will it rub against it on turns ?

Sure will. I think a 225 is the best for a Bolero, keeping its horses in mind.

Any local experience here on running MRF Wandrers or the Indian made Bridestone Dueler.

The Bridestone Dueler does come as OE on some Scorpio vehicles. How does it perform ?

235/70 R15 is available with Michelin and Yokoahama.

you can go for 235/70/16 but you will need to change the rims and raise the suspension a bit or it might touch over bumps and/ or while turning.

best is go for a fatter tyre like an all terrain type, in the same rim size, but with a different profile size. 235/ 70/15 or 245/70/15 (check at the tyre shops- there are stacks of interesting tyres available these days) - maybe on account of warranties etc you should stick with MRF Wanderer or Apollo Hawkz - in a way this is a safer bet.
