Hey, now the dealers are usually overpriced, but there are a few things you need to consider before you buy
1. Do you plan to Upgrade the tyres
2. What is your budget mags can range from 3.5k to over 10K a piece.
and trading your old rims wont give you much, wont be enough to buy one MAG wheel.

Cool, thanks BUSA (I adore your SWIFT), will save up one day for that tuning box. Big hole in pocket, time for yearly investments too

Thanks for the response.

1. I do not plan to upgrade the tyres
2. Budget is 20k

Please provide your valuable suggestions to my earlier query. This is the first time i am trying something like this, so guidance would be much appreciated.

185/65 R15 or 185/70 R14 alloys for swift?

I know there have been posts on similar topics for swift alloys.
But my query is very specific. I can't decide between a 185/65 R15 and 185/70 R14 for a swift. I know the 185/65 R15 will be great in terms of looks but will I compromise on ride quality and the condition of the shocks.
Or is the difference in ride quality insignificant and there would be absolutely no deterioration of the shocks ( in the long term) as well?
I have boiled down to these too based on the thread:
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/tyre-a...oys-swift.html

Cheers!

I think kpzen sir is right.
There is no tyre available in 185/65-15.

If you want 14"-Go in for 185/70- or 15" 195/60.I think 15" in swift will be no problem at all.

I use 17" with out any problems of shocks till now but my car is only 3 months old so cant say in long run.I think LBM sir can shed more light on it.

Assuming that u have 14x 5.5j alloys the possible upsize for your Swift would be:
185/70-14
195/65-14

205/65-14 is a better upsize than 195/65-14 for Swift on all parameters.

Got one more better deal for alloys and tires, 14 inch league was quoted 15500 bucks for set of 5 and 3200 bucks Michs XM1 (185 70 R14) and 1000 bucks for the stock tires if exchanged below 100 kms.
Tyre shop is Sai Iyengar near Lal baug road just opposite to Garuda Motors and alloys from one shop very next to Sai Iyengar.
But still theres no news about my Swift :(.

I didn't suggest that size bcos i was assuming that Rijo has 5.5j alloys which i had clearly mentioned.

5.5J might not be the optimal size for 205 but it will not hamper the running of the car in anyway. the allowable size range of the rim for 205/65-14 is 5.5 to 7 (From the site - http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg2.html).

congratulations on buying the car and the alloys! but dude you already have very light weight alloys that are more prone to damage with the potholes and stuff why not stick to a little higher profile tyres of atleast 60 profile or if you really want low profile then 205/50-R15 is the available size in many brands not the 205/55-R15.

i already have clicked these tyres and posted the pics in the accent viva crdi thread, the alloy is BBS design made by the pleasure brand here in india looks awesome too check it out!
