Looking for a good quality Air foot pump

I want to buy a good quality Air foot pump.

Wanted to buy the Michelin air pump, but is priced at Rs.2600, which is quite expensive :(
I know there are some foot pumps available at Rs.200-300 at Big Bazaar etc, but the quality is poor.

Any pointers to the same?

I dont think these 200-300 bucks pumps are any worth. Even on eBay you get pumps for Rs 250 or so.

Are there no branded foot pumps as such ? Other than Michelin, which I haven't heard actually

finney, Try METRO if you have access to the same . I took one 'double barrel' air pump from there for some ~100 odd bucks and have used it extensively for my Gypsy needs. It has worked perfectly fine. Though the build quality of the 'meter' is not great but is good enough for occasional use.

Me too using a local brand (made in india) .. works fine..

i use it v rarely for car (only in case of emergencies) and frequently for my cycle

The problem is with the unreliable pressure gauge that it has. but i can live with it.

Buy any chinese pump which works on 12V and get the Michelin tyre pressure gauge from UK eBay as available stuff in India from Michelin is bit costly and old model.

Buy an ordinary manual foot pump and a good digital/analogue gauge instead.

Foot pumps (manual) are available from 450/- onwards in JC Road bangalore.. It should be more or less similar else where i believe ..

An electronic air pump is better as in no effort is required to pump air ... but i m not sure how useful it can be and how long wires you need to carryy in order to use it wid ur battery.. i havent seen one wid a 12 v adapter to plug in the lighter hole directly

Some Michellin dealers stock the pump.
I had bought the pump for around 2.5k to 3k from Sai Iyengar and Sons in Domlur some 4 months back. It is limited in stock. Try that its a good one. The gauge reading is in kg/cm2 as it is imported. So you can convert psi to the same and pump it up. I always pump up the air using the same now.

Footpumps are commodities. I bought a electrical one in Q2 07 and its still doing just fine. I don't see the value of a "branded" pump for ten times the price when 300 does it just fine.

I am reviving an old thread.

I came across this air pump :
eBay India: 12V CAR ELECTRIC AIR COMPRESSOR PUMP / TYRE INFLATOR (item 310221669746 end time 20-Jul-2010 12:29:51 IST)

1) Is this one or another similiar one like this one worth their price?

2) How long does it take to inflate from 14 psi (the deflated pressure of my tubeless tyre) to 30 psi (the correct pressure for my tubeless tyre) with such a pump?

Nice I have been thinking of getting a foot pump also and I saw similar ones at ebay, Big Bazaar and the like. I shot one of my tyres on the expressway and am not buying a single new tyre untill i replace all of them. As a result, i need to keep one of these in the car till i do replace all my tyres and it'll serve me anyway later too.

Can someone please tell us about their experiences/which ones are good and the like.
