@Gemithomas --- Try decreasing the pressure and running it. Experiment a bit with the tyre pressures.

I second NikhilB2008 here. Try experimenting (I'd say reducing) a bit with the tyre pressures until you find the perfect setting.

Also, note that you've gone down from an 80 profile to a 70, so expect the ride to deteriorate a bit anyway. Generally the Yoko A-Drives are very comfortable and silent tyres.

Which car are you talking about? Am currently running 30 psi on my Esteem with A.drives. Its still PRETTY smooth! However, for comfort I feel around 28 psi makes a marked difference. No way A.drives are "very hard tyres"!!!

Btw, you may be checking air from an inaccurate gauge... most of the are! So you may be running much more than 30 psi.

Going too low on the tyre pressures cant result in rim taking impacts on potholes.

So what do you think is the recommended psi for A-Drives on the Swift ? I'm currently on 29 and it feels great compared to the 32-33 psi before. But this post by nitrous has be scared :(

^^^Dude, you needn't worry about that as long as your pressure is equal to or more than what the manufacturer recommends! In fact too high a pressure also might damage things as the tyre will absorb v little of the shock.

Maruti recommends 26 psi for Esteem... but I prefer about 28 ...or 29 max. The slightly higher pressure is better for my highway drives... also it serves as a buffer when I neglect to check the pressure for want of time.

I don't know whats recommended for Swift. Just find out... and you could jack it up similarly by a couple of psi or so, if you think it serves your needs.

Is it okay to buy yokohama tyres made in phillipnies. I have to get new tyres for my getz and i am getting yokohama A Drive 175/70/R13 for 2250/-.

Yup go for them. Picked up four a-drives last week which was made in Phillipines. And its a good bargain too at 2250. Just check the manufacturing date though. Should not be more than 6 months old. Amazing VFM tyres.

The price sure is tempting... but do they at least visually look the same as other A.drives?

By visually the same do you mean the thread pattern? IF yes then they must be the same. A-drives have the same pattern the world over. Yokohama has plants in Thailand and Phillipines. So depending on the import batch it could be from either of these two places.

If I am not mistaken there are A-drive R1's also available. Does anyone know if these are in the same league or better ? The tread pattern looks nicer to me.

A drive R1 (AR01) is a premium sporty design. It was made for 15"and above. It is supposedly better than the A drive, but not as good as the S drives. A customer recently bought a set for his Laura and he says these are much quieter than the stock Turanzas. A drives max out at 16". AR01 is available till 18".

What was previous tire size and what PSI were you running on them, whats manufacturer recommended?

Whats the manufacturing date on the tire?

I was looking at 15's for my Swift, so I guess it is available for the application I want it for.
