Illa anna, I thought so because the original reason for you changing to 13s was to compensate for the high axle ratio of the Contessa...Am I right this time?

Patience, saar.

If you want to fit 15", this is what you should do:

1) Try to find axle ratio from old contessa which had 15" wheels. This is 3.9 if I'm not mistaken. Maybe available in gujri but these are pretty rare; so if you find one you've saved yourself a lot of money.

2) Buy new Amby's axle ratio(i.e. pinion and ring gear) from shop. This also is 3.9 if I'm not mistaken. But you have to check the new parts for clearance within the housing.

3) With the Gypsy wheels you can go up to 215 without fouling the support rod because these wheels have a greater offset than the Conti wheels.

My 2 paise....

Hey Ananth,

I already have the beemer 15 inch rims with me which can be directly fitted to the amby(conti PCD), what Rudra is looking for is light 5 j 14" rims to fit directly to his PCD and to be able to add 185*80*14 tyres to the setup. Note he does not want to use mags, just the standard rims that you get. Getting to change the diff setup is going to be a nightmare after spending years getting the current setup right and I dont think Rudra is upto something like that at the moment.

That is why help madri saar if you know of a set of beemer 14" rims lying around somewhere in a good condition as it is a direct fit to the conti PCD.

Conti/Amby/Gypsy/BMW all are 5-bolt pattern.

Rudranna have you considered the option of wheel spacers so that you can fit more easily available Qualis/Indigo 14" rims? That must be the next best thing to actually finding BMW wheels...

If you dont mind the shipping costs I can ask someone to find some here...it should be very easy. Just make sure you're very specific with the requirements...door-to-door shipping costs about Rs.130 per kg, all inclusive (meaning customs paid, or paid-off)
