Old man needs help

Guys, I'm looking for 13 inch wheel for my Amby. I have 185/65 now and here goes the reasons for change:

A. I feel all the road bumps and potholes.
B. I can't get any 14 inch rims to match Contessa pins position. If any body knows about any 14 inchers to match Contessa pin position, please let me know. Please don't give me any exotic car rims information. It's not possible for me to get those.
C. Need to go for higher profile to give my back side a well deserved comfort.
D. I'm looking at size 185. No more, no less. Wider than this will touch front stabiliser bar while turning at steering lock to lock position.

Psycho is looking for it. As of now his info says Hankook and MRF. Both with 80 profile but 13 inches.

Don't like any of the brands above.

Thank you all in advance for helping this old coot.

I'll go for 14 inch rim if I get them without problem.

If not, only tyres.

Ok, so you are looking for either 13" tyres or 14" wheels & tyres! Hope I got that right this time??

Does the Apollo Acceler come in that size? If so you may like to check those out. I've heard good things about them.

Edit Again: You can either go for a 175/70/13 or stick with the same 185/65/13.

Trust me Rudra I know how you feel!

What are your preferred brands? no MRF? no Hankook?

Appolo is also available in the 13 inch config, have been trying for the 14 inch rims from a Beemer but have been unable to locate a set as yet, the beemer PCD matches it very closely (a mm off) had been running those(15") on the conti.

Goodyear to be precise. My Amby is running on Goodyear for last 30 years. Don't know if I can get in that size.
Apollo Acceler sounds good Rtech. I'm also getting good reports from the shops.

Yes Navin. For last one decade. I had changed the entire transmission to Conti setup from half hearted modified Amby differential. It just can't take the load from the drive shaft. I've experienced good Talbros axle snapping under load.

Rudranna,

I can't help you with anything here....but doesn't the 15" Amby/Gypsy wheel have the same PCD as your Contessa setup? Why not go for it since you get a wide range of tyres in 15"s...

ananth thambi, that was my set up when I got the whole whole thing done. 15 inch chrome plated Gypsy rims....But I felt 13 inchers will give me better initials. This feeling was whole heartedly supported by rally driver and close friend Sanjay Agarwal. Hence the change. I thought, I'll get higher profile 185 to save my back. But!!

Sorry about that...

So you are saying that you want to fit 15", but with your present axle ratio (I am guessing 3.5-ish?) it wouldn't give decent acceleration.....You might want to check out the new Amby's differential, its a Contessa based design, but is said to come with 3.9 which is more than enough. All you have to do is change the ring and pinion, maybe even the spider gears if necessary.

IMO, this would improve your ride due to larger dia wheels and you can also get a higher profile than 13 inchers in 15...
