Snow Chains!

Hi!
Does anyone know where in North India can I buy or rent Snow Chains for a Scorpio.
Now I can see all you guys thinking I'm nuts, but I'm not. My car (if you can call it that) in Delhi is a scorpio. I know its a 2X4. I know it's a bouncy unsafe car. But I'm going driving with it into the snowy mountains on the old Indo-Tibet rally road (if any of you are familiar with it) this december for a sexy holiday. I will describe that in another thread. (Mods- in which section do I describe that drive?)
So better to have snow chains than nothing at all na?
So any inputs would be appreciated.
Thanks muchly, woh bhi advance mein.

Sam, Interesting trip you got planned . But trust me on one thing , the Scorpio is not too gud on ice .. wheraes a qualis is very solid. As for the snow chains , contact Mr. Vijay Parmar n simla and he will definitely be able to arrange something for u.

Also pls let me know as to what route ur taking ... which road r u referring to as the old rally road . And incase u need any help this side do let me know .

cheers

I am going to rohru, via chakrata. After spending 2 nights enroute, i will end up at thanedar, where i shall chill out amongst the apple orchards and then when i am tired of it all, i shall drive back to delhi via simla.
It may not sound like much to you... lol

I live in chennai and have snow chains from the recent Himalayan rally that i took part in. Let me know if you are interested and I can send them to you. But I need them back.

They are made for a Scorpio. Mines also a 2 x 4. very good up the mountains.

Sam, it all depends if we get snow fall before that or not ?? Coz even if there is one snow fall before ur trip then there r patches u just might need them, though its been ages and we have never used them. Its tricky on ice but i guess we used to it ..lol But yeah its better to carry them coz at times u get a patch of 10 feet which can make u cancel a trip and u wish then that u had snow chains, plus its easier if u not used to driving on ice.

Also u havn't told me as to which route u taking from Rohru to Thanedar as there r a couple of them.. Pls let me know dates of travel.

cheers

PS -- where r u staying ???
