See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right-_...t-hand_traffic. I quote:
Those parts of Canada that were still driving on the left changed over by 1924. Ontario and Québec drove on the right since before their takeover from the French, and were allowed to retain the custom. The central provinces also drove on the right. The eastern and western provinces changed to the right in stages: British Columbia on 1 January 1922, New Brunswick on 1 December 1922, Nova Scotia on 15 April 1923,[47] and Prince Edward Island on 1 May 1924. Newfoundland changed to driving on the right in 1947 before becoming part of Canada in 1949.

A rather interesting pair of indicators is seen on this Fiat 1100 Delight, MRH 3504

Note the period "Premier" branded mudflaps.

Re: Period Accessories in Vintage and Classic Cars

An anomaly as regards to taillamps is seen in this Mark-II Ambassador in Kolhapur. Registration is obviously Kolhapur- MHK.

Since the taillamp unit looks 'properly' made enough, do we conclude that such taillamps were an accessory for the Amby, back in the day? Does look a tad strange, think of it.

It does seem well made, although fade is evident. There is some manufacturer inscription evidently visible.

Re: Period Accessories in Vintage and Classic Cars

This "Car Cooler" seems to be a famous period accessory for the VW Beetles in the 60s.
Till now, I have only seen one such car in India (MRC 4422) with this accesory fitted.
Also note the rear wheel covers. Real neat car and one of my favourite Beetles!

Not sure if any of these Murphy radios could be fit in cars but nonetheless:

Re: Period Accessories in Vintage and Classic Cars

Horns were, and are an important fixture in cars.

German made Hella's, and Bosch horns were commonly seen, particularly on 'em German imports:

A German made Bosch horn, as seen on a Mercedes Benz W110 190D Fintail:

Whereas, Jalwa Horns were a very common sight on our Ambassadors, Standard Heralds, and of course, the FIAT 1100's :

Jalwa was the OEM horn supplier to Hindustan Motors, if I'm not wrong:

And a make called Venus used to exist, as well. Nowadays, of course, 'em Venus and Jalwa horns are no where to be seen:

Re: Period Accessories in Vintage and Classic Cars

Bumping an interesting thread after a while. Here is a Fiat Delight of around 1970, with loads of cool accessories. Note the Mustang on the grille, the Italian wheel covers (originally I think offered on the Spyders and TV), bonnet scoop, horn ring and wider rear view mirror.

And possibly Italian bumpers? Since no Indian Fiat before the President (which appeared circa 1972) didn't happen to sport these?
Grille too could've been the Cromadora(?) Italian one? Owner seemed to have known a lot about the Italian connection!

Possible, or could just be Padmini bumpers - the picture is not dated, it could easily have been shot in the 70s or 80s. Having said that, Italian grilles and bumpers and other fittings used to be available in the market at the time.
