But this car lost its engine and a VW unit was put in. With this model Tempo competed for the German military vehicle contract along with BMW and VW Kuebelwagen. VW won the contest. Its such a similar story as with the the Jeep, Bantam, Willys and Ford.

Hi All,

I recently participated in this event with my 1930 Morris Minor tourer, I thought I would make some observations about this event. First of all I would like to thank and congratulate Mr. Madan Mohan who did everything possible to make this event a grand success.



They provided us with to-and-fro transit for our cars from Jaipur to Gurgaon and back from Gurgaon to Jaipur. Hotel accommodation for 2 nights were proved at 5 star hotels along with breakfast, Lunches were organised on both days at the rally venue and dinners at their restaurant, support staff were also proved meals and accommodation.

Apart from this regular shuttle service were provided from the venue to hotels, there was good music , great food, great cars and a very humble host, along with enthusiasts and many erstwhile Maharaja's/princes from all over India.

The high point of this rally personally for me was the drive from Red fort to Gurgaon, what could be a better flag off venue than the Red Fort, on the second day there was a mini rally in Gurgaon which was a shorter run of some 22 Km's and was throughly enjoyable.

All is all it was a great event and we all had fun. About the cars, I will not say much because other will and have already uploaded pictures, but there were some really awesome cars, I particularly liked an Morris oxford which is still on its original paint and upholstery.
