Karl!
I spotted a mid 60's Lambretta for you with a decent body. Hardly any rust and should be able to be started pretty easily although it seems it hasn't been started for awhile. Has all the original panels and mudguard. Only 2 problems: no papers and asking price of 9k.. :(

Incidentally I have a Fantabulous, in total scrap condition. I would like to restore it but have no information to even start the project. Any pictures and literature would be very helpful.

Fantabulous. Thats like the coolest name you can give a scooter. Is that the one in your bedroom or something?

I have seen a Fantabulous scooter running in Mumbai. It is BMC860 or 861 or something. It runs beautifully.

Best regards,

Hi I'm looking for a series 1 (aka "chestlight" model) lambretta if you know of those, or a 1960-61 series 2 (the original Innocenti one.)
'neednt be in running condition but must be complete w/out too many mods & with papers intact.
My budget is 7k-15k depending on the model/condition ('wudnt mind stretching it a little if its worth it.)
Ive missed a couple of these in the past! I do hear of a few around but unfortunately thru middlemen or "brokers" whose words cannot always be trusted!

You probably saw something else like an LD Lambretta. A BMC regn implies 56-57, whereas the Fanta was in 69 only I think.

Actually I believe fantas were made from the 50s onwards. An elderly gent here who's family is into Royal enfield dealership since long told me he had one in the 50s with a HYX regn. (which would be before AP state formation in 1956!)

Sorry. This info is not correct. The first Fanta came out in the early sixties because I owned one in 1963 and that was from the early lots

Finally some first hand accounts! They were so few in number that nobody even remembers them today. Do pen down your experiences on the scoot, with any pictures if you have some.
