This 1930 Chevy, Multi-Axle is new to me. Vehicle is in Bangalore and owner says it was in long term ownership.

The caption under one of the pictures states that production of diesel Matador began in 1969. I'm not sure if the statement is correct. If I remember correctly, diesel Matador appeared on the scene in mid 1970s, post the 1973 Oil Crisis as a result of which petrol became prohibitively expensive for CV applications.

Earlier, LCVs in India used to be petrol engined. Diesel LCVs, diesel cars and jeeps appeared only post 1973. Matador itself used to come with a two stroke petrol engine.

Interesting to see that the ad makes no mention of HMT which used to produce Zetor tractors under license in India at Pinjore, Haryana. The ad probably belongs to the pre collaboration era.

Found a picture of a wooden body Hanseat.

My uncle also lovingly drove a '70s well maintained diesel Matador (LWB) to work selling their branded sambar powder and other condiments in entire Dakshina Kannada (South Canara) till a few years ago and he loved them for their rugged build quality and simplicity.
