Got this really amazing book - "Forty years of Design with FIAT" by Dante Giacosa. Giacosa, a prolific designer and Fiat's hero, is credited for several breakthrough models like the topolino, the 500, the 600, our very own FIAT 1100, right through the 850s, the 1500s, 1800s, several autobianchis, and so forth.
The book exhaustively documents fiat's best years - from the thirties through the seventies, and contains pictures and plans of almost all major production models in this period, including reductions of invaluable blueprints ! The book also gives us an insight into how a model is concieved (I mean right from the socio-economic reasons for bringing out A particular model, onwards), and how it gets developed through the various stages on the drawing board, till final launch. Its a pleasure reading this book, and I'm slowly devouring it, a few pages every day.

Lucky you! I shall borrow it to have a copy made and stored in my Amby Mk 1.

Your uncle had one of these? What happened to it? Regn number and colour?

I shall also be borrowing this from you - I have been trying to get a copy of this for years together. This is a book by the prophet himself.

Yours buddy, anytime .
No my uncle never had an Amby, I guess he bought the manual from a raddi wallah - he must've seen it and thought of me. What better gift to give a car nut ?
Giacosa ? - Indeed, I would go a step further and call him God himself !
