Right next door to me lived one Mr. Adi Billimoria, auto enthusiast and racer of yore. He had a most evocative V 12 coupe, also in red. Up close it looked brilliant. In the 5 odd years that it was there next door I never saw it move, but it was immaculate. After he passed away it exchanged many hands, wonder where it is now.

Anyways, back on topic.
The V12 Jag from Pune travelled around India, finally landing up at Popular Car Bazar at Chakala. No one could make her run properly. One day she went to Nagpur. There they fixed her up and she ran like a Pussycat. Sold onwards to Delhi, now, I believe again for sale. See the pic.
Talking with Karl, he felt that there was another red V12 with a MH 01 regn. no. Does anyone recall this car? I do not.

When you see the pictures posted by Mr. John, and Karl's comment that some of these cars would be considered excellent, then you may begin to understand what ails these cars. They burnt a hole in Mr. John pocket, and will continue to do so for the next owners. So they landed up where they are. This goes for the XJ's, but what are those E-types doing there is a good question. I am confident that at least 30 of these cars came to India. There were similar Daimlers too.

Some guys (morons) put those stupid fake stick on proturding manifold pipes on the rear bumper of this jag! The ones we see so often on 800's, auto's etc. Only in India, same goes for the stupid flame stickers on the mirrors. Some people brains are still in the caves, even the ones still dwelling in caves that I meet seem more balanced where do these guys fit idiots!

This Plymouth is 54/55, not 52. Is the petrol engine in place? Everything else appears to be in order, should not be too difficult a restoration. Relatively speaking of course.

Correct price? Difficult to say. If I had the money I would pay around 1.5, give or take. These too are highly collectable cars now. Simple to maintain, nothing too complicated, plus its a flashy Amerian car with fins and chrome

Very original find -its a Plymouth Savoy of 1954-56. As Karl says it should be yours for Rs 1.5 L or so. Maybe you'll be spending some Rs 1L more on it to bring it to its original shine and fitness.Basically the car is quite original! Its quite rare to sight these, as most have been junked, being gas guzzlers.

Could this possibly be Bangalore? Looks like a very famous place where such cars would be parked in Bangalore.

After a long time, a thread close to my heart gets revived - although not in the contributory manner I expected it to. Looks like the time's ripe for another hunt.

In case you're interested in any of the cars already pictured on this thread, PM me and I'll give you the car's location and contact details. Wont tell you about the Consul though, dont want competition - Just kidding!

Or else, why not join me (and NOS Power) on the next hunt?

The above car is same as the top car and it seems to have been painted as the door window frame is painted in body color not standard from factory

There are two V12 Jags, both red, one Mumbai and one Pune registered.
The Mumbai registered car went to Nagpur and onward to Delhi. Dr. Shirish in Nagpur got her running like a bomb. I believe now she is or was for sale again.
