Its indeed the Russian war Jeep the Yaz. It belongs to Mr.Rajinikanth, the RTO who is also the President of NIVICAA(Nilagiri Vintage and Classic Car Association).

Its got almost everything stock. The engine is the original side valve bi-fuel engine, it starts on petrol and runs in kerosene.

It is not YAZ, but GAZ meaning Gorkovsky Avtomobilny Zavod (Russian)translated as Gorky Automobile Plant

Mutant Kingsway

This mutant 55 Kingsway which grew 56 Tailfins also participated in last years rally and Karl immediately noted this anomaly. This car is also seen in a recent post thread.

Maybe that explains the mutation!

Usually the reg number is changed while shooting, so they only changed the last digit . This is the only dodge kingsway 1955 i have seen with a 1956 Tail Fin.

This is a Dodge kingsway 1955

This is the Kingsway from film

This is the Ooty rally Kingsway

Both the kingsway display the same tail fin modification, so it must be the same car. Car used in films have great chance of deformation & modification i 'e see trailer for Golmal 3, incedently they are abusing kingsway there too . as the filmwallas are now having some guidlines on treating animals, it is high time they have some guidlines for treating endangered vintage & classic cars.

Perhaps the motoring clubs should take a lead in this matter. even the car entusiasts should at least protest by sending mail/email to the director of the movie & the Industry leaders.

DOES ANYBODY HAVE EMAIL ADDRESS OF ROHIT SHETTY?

Thanks a lot for sharing the information!

And I completely agree with you point on guidelines for treating vintage & classic cars.
