Me too!!!

The 500s originally never shared the same tyre as the 1100, those were definitely a different size. The padmini tyres must've just made a good fit on these rims so they would've decided to use them instead.

The 500 Fiats were 15 inch rims and the tire width was 4 inches.

Those Padmini tires are not correct and will eat up a lot of performance from the engien and make it very hard to have fun with the car

The original Rim / Tire size is as below

If its a 15inch rim then those maybe Amby tyres on, not Padmini. Joy, am I right? I ask as I do need a set of Amby tyres too

Incidentally, pavan- vintageman from lucknow who had restored his fiat 500 B (older model) had used Bajaj eliminator tyres for his car, which may be the same size as wasif mentioned, assuming of course they had the same size rims as the 500C.

You could give those a try.

The tyre size is 15” x 130/ 90 for the avenger. Now how will that transalate to the tyre size of 500 is that we have to see. The rim size is same though.

I feel you guys have all got it wrong here.

During our initial tyre ordering days, we tried the 15 inch tyre on the rim and the tyre was way too big on the rims, Few manuals showed us this size but how can you fit 15 inch tyres on a 14 inch rims IMPOSSIBLE

A 15 " tyre will never fit the Fiat 500's rim by any chance. But when we used a 14" tyre, it went in neatly.

It does not defy logic anywhere.

Funny the original 500 was on 15 inch wheels ..I was trying to look for details on the 1950 and the link below says the rims are 13 inches for the 1950 500C

http://www.getcarspecs.com/fiat/1950-fiat-500c-topolino

http://carspector.com/car/Fiat/029465/?u=us

Not too sure of this but its possible for the 500C they were 14 as per the manual posted by Manish

Either way the width of the tires you have on now is too much

Wasif sir, you are a treasure trove.

Sir, one thing that i've noticed during my www. search regarding the Fiat 500C related articles, each and every documented detail of this particular car does not correspond to the other, every detail is contrasting, and ends up with an internal conflict.

I truly believe the rims borrowed from the same donor cars are Original in all the ways. What i see is what i need to beleive right now. So 14" it is and we are happy with Nikhilb2008 (T-BHPian) of Madhus for getting us fresh from factory tyres, and white walls made to order. That calls for a great appreciation to our dear friend

Karl, I'm not sure what size tyres you need for your Amby. The tyres you see on my Topolino wheels are 14/5.20 white walls.

Please let me know what other sizes you need apart from the 118 NE white walls. Madhus Enterprises are main dealers for MRF and they seem to have a good working relationship with the Tyre Manufacturer! The owner's son Nikhil is supposedly a big Automobile enthusiast and is on TBHP...he can help us to get almost any tyre size with or without white walls( thin or thick!)

I would need 5.60-13 (118NE) size, 1 set with THIN whitewalls and another with THICK ones

Do let us know how to contact them.

Wasif, In all my Topolino research, I've never seen 15/4.00 but have seen it vary between 15/ 4.25 and 15/ 4.50 . Is it possible that different spec tyres were offered in different markets? For example, It's 4.50 /15 for Simca 6(French version of the Topolino) and 15/4.25 Low pressure Tyres for ENGLISH Topolinos! It may be also possible that different tyre diameters may have been used and we got 14 inch wheels on Cars which came to India??

I think the Diameter is fine on my car but the width may be a tad more! The tyres we managed to get are 14/5.20 and so it may be about half an inch more than we desired. Do you really think it would make a big difference? What if we maintained a slightly higher pressure?? looking forward for feedback from the GURUS. Thanks.

It is possible that different rim / tire sizes were offered in different markets.

What I can say for sure is that those rims you have do look original.

Regarding performance loss with wider tires, considering the small size / performaces of the engien it will make a differnece. You will be down on power a bit even if you over inflate the tires.

Looking it how the tire market is in India I am happy you found something to fit those rims so its gonna have to do as is.

How ever considering the fact that we do not have the exact specs/ tire size for a 14" rim, which is extremely difficult to find a documented write-up , i think we need to be content with the present set-up.

I agree, the ride quality will be a bit different with these tyres, but nothing drastic. And also considering its useage. Mr Airbus would drive it for a max of 50 kms a year

Some more updates on the car by noon.
