I would say any day refrain from Skoda. Read this

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...rned-year.html

This is what a fellow BHPian had to go through with his Skoda.

Tata has a fairly responsive service network and needless to say if you are looking on to spend on likes of a Laura, why not Toyota Altis. Much better a car anyday. If you are looking for an SUV, then go for Endeavour, its far better than Safari.

The following are a few alternative choices provided your heart agrees:

(i) The new Innova
(ii) Chevrolet Tavera (Top end- The car has somehow got a 'taxi' brand to it though)
(iii) Mahindra Xylo (Its the car pushing the Mahindra sales and "stock" up)

However I do agree with you that the Safari has a "grand" feel to it.

Tata Safari is an ageless vehicle, go for it. The A.S.S. of Skoda seems to have detiorated to badly.

After reading the Skoda thread and being a longtime Safari fan (not an owner yet ) I woudl say go for the Safari. If your budget allows it go in for the Endeavour. CRV is pushing out the price range. Mitusbishi SUVs are also a good option.
