20 days with my 2024 Magnite AMT: What has changed over its predecessor

The interior feels upmarket since there is plenty of leatherette used in almost all touch points and looks nice in real life.

BHPian Tensor recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Was searching for a good beater/second car for pure city use, Magnite seemed to have ticked all boxes for me and bought the top end Tekna Plus EZ-Shift costed 11.5 lakhs on road Bangalore.

I got mine a few weeks back and have to say it’s indeed good for the price.

Some points that I have observed in the past 20 odd days:

  • It has weight sensors on all seats for seat belt reminder.
  • The auto lock unlock feature when approached with key is good as I don’t have to press the request sensor to unlock or lock.
  • The car has gotten heavier compared to pre facelift by about 80 kgs.
  • It has acoustic windows which does suppress the external noise quite a bit (the engine is barely audible inside) NVH levels are quite low.
  • The stock speakers in the top end variant are good enough they are Arkamys btw.
  • The interior feels upmarket since there is plenty of leatherette used in almost all touch points and looks nice in real life.
  • Leatherette seats are excellent inside they offer really good thigh support.
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto works flawlessly.
  • Compared to pre facelift the suspension has become softer (due to increased weight) at lower speeds which is good for cities as I’ll be using this mostly in cities.
  • Feels stable at triple digit speeds (max I tried was 120 kmph in NH)
  • EPS is smooth center’s back quickly and not much to complain.
  • Also has 6 airbags with ESP and TC scored 4 stars in previous NCAP now the structure seems to have improved according to Nissan hence the increase in weight.
  • Digital instrument cluster looks crisp.
  • Frameless auto IRVM looks good.
  • AMT is good enough for city use (with 4 passengers on board) it’s smooth and when driven normally although revs to red line when you press the throttle hard instead of downshifting, has hill hold which works well and also creeps upto 6 kmph in drive and reverse.
  • 360 degree camera is average.
  • P.S it has auto lock/speed sensing door lock just like every other car however by default it was turned off strange .
