39,000 KM update, service and why I'm not selling it.

Hello Members,

I got the service done today and she has been our reliable partner for the past 12 years, now almost 13 .

Current odometer - 39,040

Service cost - Rs 2,000.

Parts changed - Front and rear brakes and new EXCIDE battery was purchased last month, cost Rs 1,450 after deducting Rs 150 for old battery. (3 battery purchased in total till now and last EXCIDE battery lasted 4-5 years )

Why I am against selling

  • Uncertain Government policies, last month or so they were thinking of banning all petrol 2 wheeler's in Delhi and NCR region but somehow postponed it to 2027 (Perfectly lines up as 2 years and 2 months left of it's life).
  • ZERO problems & still rides like new, no rattle or anything (PSA - Maintenance is the key guys)
  • We recently scrapped one of our bike and got Rs 5500 and just a receipt, not a proper certificate, which shows that the scrapping process implementation needs a lot of work and I am sure the receipt ain't going to give any benefits that you get when you buy a new vehicle.
  • New Access cost Rs 1.08 on road (one of our family member bought new updated Access in February) & that's a lot of money for a scooter so why not get a bike? as I am the only one in the family who rides/drives.

Review incoming? maybe.
