Ottocar J. from Vienna, Austria is a collector of Porsche cars. On his 80th birthday, he picked up his 80th Porsche - a Boxster Spyder finished in Miami Blue from the Porsche assembly plant in Zuffenhausen, Germany.

Porsche has revealed that Ottocar collects his cars in person whenever possible. The first car he collected from the company himself was a 911 Carrera 3.0 in 1977.

Ottocar had a goal of collecting 80 Porsches by age 80, which he has accomplished. To mark this milestone, Porsche allowed him to affix the Porsche Crest on the bonnet himself, making him one of the first customers to be allowed to do so. He was also congratulated personally by Wolfgang Porsche, chairman of the company’s supervisory board.

Ottocar’s passion for Porsche cars began many years ago on a race track where he was overtaken by Porsches on all sides. He then started saving money and went on to buy a Speed Yellow 911E in 1972. Since then, he has bought various Porsches including a 917, a 910 with a flat-8-cylinder engine, a 956, a 964 Cup car and a 904 with its original Fuhrmann engine. He also bought 9 versions of the Carrera RS. He has owned 80 different Porsche cars and still owns close to 40.

The Austrian's current collection consists of a Jagdwagen military vehicle, a 356 coupe with a bent windscreen, many 930 Turbo and Turbo-look models, a 911 R, a Type 991 911 Speedster, and two Boxster Spyders. All the older cars are roadworthy as well and he drives his 917 in classic racing events.

He has built a separate building for these cars which includes a toy shop, an antiques store and a movie theatre featuring Steve McQueen's Le Mans. There are workshop doors, display windows, advertising signs, posters and trophies.

With his 80 by 80 goal met, Ottocar now plans to drive a section of the Pan-American Highway in 2022, which is 50 years after he bought his first Porsche car. He plans to buy a Cayenne for this drive.
