All-electric Nissan Micra successor teased for Europe

The same platform will also underpin the upcoming Renault 5.

Nissan has confirmed that they will replace the popular Micra hatchback with an all-electric model. The new all-electric Nissan Micra successor is said to be part of the electrification plans announced by the Nissan-Renault-Mitsubishi alliance, which has invested a total of 23 billion euros over a period of five years.

The all-new EV which replaces the Nissan Micra will be underpinned by the CMF-BEV platform, said to be launched in 2024. The same platform will also underpin the upcoming Renault 5 and a number of other future offerings by Nissan, Renault and Alpine.

The new platform is said to accommodate enough batteries to provide a range of 400 km on a single charge. It is also said to reduce costs by 33 per cent & power consumption by 10 per cent, compared to the current platform used on the Nissan Leaf.
