Android Auto: Now officially in India!

The wait is over. Android Auto is officially in India! As shared by Android's official Twitter handle (@Android), the service is now available in 18 new countries, including India, Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, Austria, Venezuela, Uruguay and Costa Rica.

Android Auto is an app that connects with your car’s infotainment system and makes it easier to use an Android phone while driving. It essentially replicates the Android interface on a car's digital display screen and enables users to shuffle through functions including navigation, music, sending or receiving text messages and using the phone's dial pad, among others. The app supports voice controls and can be used through the car’s steering-mounted controls as well.

Android Auto is expected to be offered by various manufacturers, including Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Chevrolet.
