Aston Martin sales up by $80 million thanks to F1 safety car

The Vantage F1 Edition is described by Aston Martin as the "fastest and most focussed" model in their lineup.

Aston Martin, apart from having its own F1 racing team, also has the Vantage and DBX707 participate during Formula 1 weekends around the world. The F1 Edition Vantage and DBX707 act as the Safety Car and Medical Car, respectively.

The inclusion of the two road-going cars during an F1 weekend is said to have helped the British carmaker improve its sales. As per reports, Lawrence Stroll, CEO of Aston Martin, claims that the presence of the two cars has helped the company increase sales by 300 - 400 units. He mentioned that while this might sound like a small number, for a premium car brand like Aston Martin, it is relatively important. “There’s an expression, I didn’t believe it but we’re actually experiencing it: race on Sunday, sell on Monday.”

The Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition comes with an aerodynamic kit, adding 200 kg of downforce. The special edition supercar also comes with a reinforced chassis and upgraded springs and dampers. The engine is tuned to produce 527 BHP; a 25 BHP increase over the standard model. The Vantage F1 Edition is described by Aston Martin as the "fastest and most focussed" model in their lineup and was first introduced back in 2021.

The Vantage F1 Edition costs around $200,000, which according to Stroll's calculation, would amount to $60-$80 million in sales.
