Bajaj might launch new models under 'V' range

The Bajaj V15 has managed to clock significant sales numbers since its launch in March this year. As a result, Bajaj is now reportedly planning to launch more bikes under the 'V' series in order to tighten its grip on the high-volume premium commuter motorcycle segment.

Rajiv Bajaj - the company's Managing Director, has commented that the next bike on the V's platform would be launched around November this year, while the third product on the same platform would follow in May or June 2017.

Though there is no official word about what models and engine options will be introduced in the segment, it is being speculated that upcoming models will be the V20 with a 200 cc engine and V40 with a 400 cc mill. The fact that the motorcycle manufacturer already has both these engines might help in reducing the development costs and time, while enhancing economies of scale.
