Bajaj Pulsar AS200 reaches dealerships ahead of launch

Bajaj Auto dealerships have started displaying the upcoming Pulsar AS200 motorcycle.

Based on the Pulsar 200 NS, the AS200 (AS stands for Adventure Sport) comes with an adventure touring body style. It has a semi fairing, projector headlamp, a fairly large windshield, clear lens turn-indicators, a full-sized rear mudguard, an underbelly exhaust and black alloy wheels. The bike has digital instrument cluster with an analogue tachometer. There is a telescopic fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear.

Powering the Pulsar AS200 is the same 199.5 cc, single-cylinder engine that is found in 200 NS. This liquid-cooled, carburetted unit is capable of developing 23.2 bhp @ 9500 rpm and 18.3 Nm of torque @ 8000 rpm. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes on both wheels.

The Pulsar AS200 entered production with the RS200, which was launched last month. It is expected to go on sale on April 14, 2015.
