Bajaj VS400 to be launched under a new brand - Kratos

Bajaj Auto is reportedly planning to launch its most powerful bike yet - the VS400 - under a completely new brand name. Media reports suggest that this new brand will be called 'Kratos', and placed above the Pulsar bike range. Kratos, in Greek Mythology, refers to the God of Strength.

More products will be introduced over the course of time under the Kratos brand, making it Bajaj's premium range of motorcycles. If these reports do come out to be true, the upcoming performance cruiser will likely be called the Bajaj Kratos VS400. It was earlier speculated to be named as the Pulsar VS400. Interestingly, this change in nameplate appears to be a last minute decision, as previous spy shots clearly showed the Pulsar moniker stamped on the fuel tank.

The VS400 is basically a production model of the Pulsar CS400 concept that was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. It is powered by a 373 cc engine, similar to the one offered with the KTM Duke 390. Equipped with Bajaj's patented triple-spark technology and mated to a 6-speed gearbox, this engine is capable of developing around 35 BHP of power.
