Benelli Tornado 302 spotted testing in India

A set of spy shots of the Benelli Tornado 302 has been leaked on the internet. According to the source of these images, the heavily camouflaged bike was spotted testing near Pune. The Tornado 302 is expected to launch in India later this year.

The Benelli Tornado 302 made its world debut at the 2015 EICMA in Milan. The bike was also showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. It is essentially a fully-faired version of the TNT300, which is already on sale in India. As a result, the Tornado 302 shares various components with its naked sibling, including the trellis frame, the suspension setup, and the braking system. It is even powered by the same 300 cc, liquid cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve, DOHC, twin-cylinder engine, which has been tweaked to produce 34 BHP and 27 Nm of torque. This engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The suspension system includes 41 mm inverted telescopic forks with 120 mm travel at the front, while a monoshock with 45 mm travel is attached to the rear. Braking duties are handled by a 260 mm floating twin-disc brake at the front and a 240 mm single disc brake at the rear. The bike will also be equipped with ABS, though it is still not clear whether it will be offered as standard, or as part of an optional safety pack.

Once launched, the Benelli Tornado 302 will compete against the likes of the Yamaha R3 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300.
