BS-VI compliant Mercedes E-Class Long Wheelbase launched

Mercedes-Benz has launched the long wheelbase version of the E-Class with updated BS-VI compliant engines. It is available with two engine options with two variants each. Prices start at Rs. 57.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The E 220 d Long Wheelbase is available with a 1,950cc, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 192 BHP @ 3,800 rpm and 400 Nm of torque @ 1,600-2,800 rpm. The E 200 is powered by a 1,991cc, 4-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 194 BHP @ 5,800-6,100 rpm and 300 Nm @ 1,600-4,000 rpm. Both engines are BS-VI compliant and come paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. 

Both the E 200 and E 220 d are available in Expression and Exclusive trims. The latter comes with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that can be configured in three styles - Classic, Sport and Progressive, 590 watt Burmester audio system, rear wireless charging and a rear touchscreen to control media, climate and vehicle functionalities. 

Other features include LED headlights, 7 airbags, ESP, PRE-SAFE, Parking Pilot with Active Parking Assist and reversing camera and adaptive brake lights.

Further, Mercedes has discontinued the E 350 d, which came with a 2,987cc V6 diesel engine rated at 258 BHP @ 3,400 rpm and 620 Nm @ 1600-2400 rpm. It is rumoured that Mercedes will offer the inline-6 from the S-Class at a later date as its replacement.
