Chevrolet shelves Spin MPV for India, will launch Beat Activ

Chevrolet India have announced their plans for the company's future launches. The Chevrolet Spin MPV, which was earlier supposed to launch next year, won't be introduced in India. On the other hand, the Beat Activ concept showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo will make it to production. The company has further said that these decisions have been taken by carefully studying the customer preferences and market demand.

Apart from the Toyota Innova and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the Indian MPV market hasn't seen a successful new MPV product from a very long time. Thus, the Spin would need a high-potential USP factor to make a mark in the market.

Meanwhile, the Beat Activ concept managed to gather enough audience at the 2016 Auto Expo. As a result, the company is hoping that the production model will be able to clock satisfactory sales numbers for Chevrolet India. The company does need a couple of products in order to make a mark in the Indian market.

In addition to the Beat Activ, Chevrolet India will also launch the all-new Beat hatchback and a production model of the Essentia compact sedan, which was also displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo.
