Chevrolet's new crate engine is a 10.35L V8 with 1,004 BHP

The ZZ632/1000 will debut at SEMA 2021

Chevrolet has unveiled its biggest and most powerful crate engine ever built. Called the ZZ632/1000, the crate engine comes in the form of a massive big-block V8, based on the same unit which powers the COPO Camaro.

However, the V8 crate engine has a larger displacement of 10.35-litre. The naturally-aspirated engine is said to produce 1,004 BHP @ 6,600 rpm and 1,188 Nm @ 5,600 rpm, when running on 93-octane petrol.

The engine is made using a cast-iron block. The connecting rods and the crankshaft is made using forged steel, combined with forged aluminium pistons, heads, port fuel injection and a CNC-machined intake manifold.

The new ZZ632/1000 crate engine will debut at the upcoming SEMA 2021 show in November. Deliveries of the same will begin sometime early next year. Chevrolet is yet to announce the pricing for the crate engine.
