Facelifted BMW Z4 to be launched in India during November

BMW will continue its launch blitz in India with the launch of the facelifted 2014 Z4 roadster. The Z4 will be launched in November, and will be imported into India through the completely built unit (CBU) route. Introduced in December 2012, the 2014 Z4 is a facelifted model that will replace the current edition of the car that's sold here. An all-new model of the Z4 roadster is likely to arrive in 2015, until which the facelifted version will motor on.

The current version of the Z4 roadster sold in India is priced at 68.90 lakh rupees, ex-showroom Delhi, and the facelifted model is likely to be priced higher than the current version. However, the 2014 BMW Z4 could continue to be offered in the same 35i variant trim, with a 3 liter-straight six turbo petrol engine outputting 306 Bhp of peak power and 400 Nm of peak torque. This engine drives the rear wheels of the car by means of a 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission.

The Z4 roadster comes with an optional retractable hard-top roof that automatically folds out of the boot of the car in 19 seconds. A soft-top roof is standard with the car. In India, the car will compete with the likes of the Porsche Boxster and the Mercedes Benz SLK.

The international versions of facelifted 2014 BMW Z4 come with the following changes:

  • Restyled front bumpers
  • Slimmer headlamps with LED Corona rings
  • Chrome and tapered finish for turn indicator housings
  • New design for alloy wheels
  • New colours for interior trims
  • Leather seats with contrast stitching
  • Glossy black surrounds for air vents
  • Anthracite wood trim for center console
  • iPhone connectivity
Since the 2014 BMW Z4 roadster will be imported through the CBU route, expect most of the changes in the international version to make it to the Indian version.
