Ferrari F8 Tributo revealed; replaces 488 GTB

Ferrari has revealed a new mid-rear engined sports car called the F8 Tributo. It will replace the 488 GTB in company’s line-up. The official unveil is scheduled on March 5, 2019 at the Geneva Motor Show.

The F8 Tributo measures 4,611 mm long, 1,979 mm wide and 1,206 mm tall. The dry weight of the car is 1,330 kg. Compared to the 488 GTB, the Tributo is claimed to be 40 kg lighter.

The supercar pays homage to the V8 engines. The car gets slim headlights that have a brake cooling vent at the top and the 488 Pista-inspired S-duct on the bonnet. The wheel arches are flared, and the slim rear spoiler neatly integrates with the rest of the bodywork. The rear end gets quad circular LED tail lights and a mid-bumper mounted dual exhaust pipes. The lower part of the bumper gets a carbon fibre diffuser to aid aerodynamics. The engine cover gets louvres that are claimed to extract hot air from the engine compartment without affecting the spoiler’s efficiency.

On the inside, the car gets a new Human Machine Interface (HMI) along with circular air vents, new steering wheel and a 7-inch passenger touchscreen display.

The F8 Tributo is powered by a 3,902cc, 90-degree, turbocharged V8 engine. It puts out 710 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 770 Nm of torque @ 3,250 rpm. Ferrari claims that this engine is the most powerful V8 engine from the company. The 0-100 km/h and 0-200 km/h times are claimed to be 2.9 and 7.8 seconds respectively while the claimed top speed is 340 km/h. The car also comes equipped with Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer (FDE+).
