Fiat Avventura variants explained

Fiat India is gearing up to launch the Avventura in India. The car was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo, held earlier this year. Now, the details of the variants of car have been revealed.

As earlier, there are three trim levels - Active (base), Dynamic (mid) and Emotion (top). However, the Emotion variant will be available only on the diesel version of the Avventura. The petrol version will be available in the Active and Dynamic variants only. Here's a summary of what we get with each variant.

The exterior of the Active variant features black ORVMs with integrated turn-indicators, body coloured bumpers, rear fog lamps, roof rails, side body cladding, tailgate-mounted spare wheel and 16-inch alloy wheels with 205 / 55 R 16 tyres. On the inside, there's a dual tone interior and a rear parcel shelf. The list of equipment includes air-conditioning, foot-level rear air circulation, tilt-adjustable power steering, front power windows with delay and auto down functions, "follow me" headlamps and dead pedal. Safety features such as automatic door lock, central locking, door open indicator, fire prevention system and immobiliser with rolling code have been included. The Active variant also comes with a foldable key with a boot release, keyless entry, distance to empty indicator, speed limit buzzer, service reminder, real-time mileage indicator, seatbelt warning light, trip calculator and high terrain gauges.

The Dynamic variant adds front fog lamps, body-coloured, electrically adjustable ORVMs, fabric inserts on door trim and door arm rests and a boot lamp. It also gains an integrated CD, MP3 and FM player with USB and Aux connectivity and speed sensitive volume control. Other features include a height adjustable driver seat, rear power windows, external temperature display and specific door open indicator. ABS with EBD, an important safety feature, will be available only on the diesel version of the car.

The Emotion variant gets everything that is available in the Dynamic. Additionally, it features front airbags and early crash sensors, passenger airbag deactivation, 3-point seatbelts with pre-tensioners and load limiters, height adjustable front seatbelts, seatbelt warning light and buzzer, ambient lighting on the dashboard, climate control, rear AC vents, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, rear defogger, rear window wiper and washer, 60:40 split rear seat and a Bluetooth enabled audio system with voice recognition, SMS readout and steering-mounted audio controls.

The Avventura will compete against the Volkswagen Cross Polo and Toyota Etios Cross in India.
