Fiat mulls exporting Avventura from India

Fiat Group Automobiles India Private Limited (FGAIPL) has revealed that it has plans to export the upcoming Avventura from India.

Financial Express reports that the company will initiate plans to ship the Avventura out to key global markets after its launch in India. Fiat will look at right hand drive markets, but is unsure about which those countries will be. At the same time, the company has claimed that it will prioritise catering to the domestic market.

Fiat displayed the Avventura at the 12th Auto Expo, which was held at Greater Noida in February 2014. While it is based on the Punto platform, there are many cosmetic features that differentiated the Avventura at the Expo from its sibling like 16-inch alloy wheels, higher ground clearance, tailgate-mounted spare wheel, plastic body cladding and roof rails. A recent sighting of a test mule of the car revealed that the plastic body cladding and the roof rails may be dropped on the production version.

The Avventura is expected to be available in both, petrol and diesel variants and will be launched in the fourth quarter of CY 2014.
