Ford Figo & Aspire now get ABS + EBD in Trend variants

Thank you to BHPians RavenAvi and VKumar for sharing this information with other enthusiasts!

Ford has silently added ABS and EBD to the Trend variant of the Figo hatchback and Aspire compact sedan. The Trend variant of both these models is already equipped with dual front airbags.

Prior to this update, anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) were offered only in the Titanium and Titanium+ variants. However, since they are now present in the Trend variant as well, the only variants missing these safety features are the Ambiente trim of the Aspire and the Base and Ambiente trims of the Figo.

The Government of India is planning to make airbags and ABS standard across all models in the coming years. As a result, various automakers have been adding these passive and active safety features to their model line-ups. Recently, Volkswagen also added ABS to the Polo hatchback's base trim, making it standard for all models in its Indian portfolio. Ford has also made dual airbags standard across all variants of the EcoSport compact SUV.
