Germany's FlixBus launches intercity bus service in India

FlixBus currently operates in 42 countries across the world, with India being the 43rd nation.

FlixBus, one of the largest intercity bus service operators in the world has announced its entry into the Indian market.

The German transportation company aims to transform intercity bus travel in India, which is the second biggest bus market in the world. The company promises to offer travel options at competitive prices and best-in-class safety standards.

FlixBus will initially operate on routes in Northern India, connecting Delhi with Ayodhya, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Manali, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Ajmer, Katra, Dehradun, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Jodhpur, Dharamshala, Lucknow, and Amritsar. The first routes will start on February 6, 2024, at a special launch price of Rs 99. The routes will include 59 stops and more than 200 connections.

FlixBus has partnered with local bus operators in India. It will operate premium buses equipped with BS6 engines. The company offers features like gender seating, a 24x7 incident response team, traffic control wards, 2-point seat belts for all passengers and exclusive FlixBus lounges.
