Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 ridden to Key La Pass

The Pan America 1250 has created history by reaching an altitude that no other Harley-Davidson motorcycle has been to before.

A group of five motorcyclists, led by Ravi Avalur, Head, Harley-Davidson Business Unit at Hero MotoCorp, has ridden Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 bikes to Key La Pass.

At 18,600 feet, the Key La Pass is the world’s highest unpaved motorable road located in the region of Changthang, Leh. The route is extremely challenging. It consists of steep inclines, rocks, loose gravel, snow, ice and whatnot. The reduced oxygen levels make things even more difficult for both man and machine.

The Pan America 1250 has been taken to the summit and it created history by reaching an altitude that no other Harley-Davidson motorcycle has been to before.

The Pan America 1250 is Harley-Davidson’s first adventure-tourer model. It is powered by the 1,252cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin Revolution Max engine that makes 150 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and 127 Nm @ 6,750 rpm.

The first batch of the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 was sold out. Bookings for the second lot are currently open.
