Hero MotoCorp Xtreme Sports spied ahead of launch

Hero MotoCorp's upcoming Xtreme Sports motorcycle has been spied. The bike looks sportier than the regular Xtreme thanks to a restyled headlamp, under body cowl, decals and a new exhaust. The bike also features LED pilot lamps, LED tail lamp, clip-on handlebars, split seats, new analogue-digital instrumentation and black alloy wheels.

The Xtreme Sports is powered by the same 149.2 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled petrol engine as the regular Extreme. However, it in the Sports, it produces 15.2 bhp @ 8500 rpm, which is a gain of 1 bhp over the standard version. The peak torque remains unchanged at 12.8 Nm @ 6500 rpm. The bike has a telescopic fork suspension at the front and adjustable dual shocks at the rear. Stopping power is provided by 240 mm and 220 mm disc brakes at the front and rear respectively. A 130 mm rear drum brake is optional.

Hero MotoCorp had displayed the Xtreme Sports motorcycle at the 2014 Auto Expo, held earlier this year. The company is expected to launch it in the market next month.
