How different is the export-spec Volkswagen Virtus?

The VW Virtus destined for global markets comes equipped with larger 17-inch alloy wheels.

Volkswagen is gearing up to launch the Virtus in India on June 9. The mid-size sedan will also be exported to markets around the world. The latest images highlight the difference between the Indian version and the international spec.

The VW Virtus destined for global markets comes equipped with 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The larger rims shod with low profile tyres fill the wheel arches nicely and suit the car really well.

Apart from the wheels, the export-spec Virtus looks identical to the Indian version of the mid-sized sedan. The car is equipped with LED headlamps and fog lights, while the rear features stylish wraparound taillights. It also has a sunroof and a shark fin antenna.

The Virtus is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which also underpins the Skoda Slavia. It is offered with two turbo-petrol engines: a 1.0-litre unit that makes 113 BHP and 175 Nm and a 1.5-litre motor that develops 148 BHP and 250 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed DSG.
