Hyundai Creta facelift waiting period stretches to 6 months

The petrol variants of the Creta have the lowest waiting times.

It’s been two months since the launch of the Hyundai Creta facelift, and already, the SUV commands a long waiting period. The Creta diesel automatic variants have the highest waiting period.

According to Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai India, out of the total bookings, 90% are for the mid-spec and top-spec variants, while 43% of buyers opted for the diesel version. As a result, the waiting period for a Creta diesel has reached 6 months.

The petrol variants of the Creta have the lowest waiting times. According to the company, customers can expect delivery of their vehicles in about 2 months. The waiting period for the turbo-petrol variants though, is slightly longer.

Hyundai has ramped up its production capacity, adding 50,000 units per annum. The factory now has a total capacity of 8,25,000 units and is said to be operating at 95% of its capacity. With the addition of the new Talegaon plant, Hyundai’s total production capacity is expected to reach 10 lakh units per annum.

The month of February saw the highest-ever Creta sales in India. Hyundai sold 15,276 units of the Creta last month.
