In India, the Scorpio Classic is sold alongside the new Scorpio-N.

The Indian Army has placed an order for 1,850 Mahindra Classic SUVs. This is in addition to the 1,470 units that were earlier ordered by the armed forces.

In India, the Scorpio Classic is sold alongside the new Scorpio-N. The SUV is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that makes 128 BHP and 300 Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. While the specifications of the Army version are unknown, the SUV is equipped with a four-wheel drive system.

An image shared by Mahindra reveals a batch of Army-spec Scorpio Classic SUVs ready for delivery. The SUVs are painted in a shade of green and are fitted with silver 5-spoke alloy wheels, fog lamps, side steps and roof rails.

The Indian Army has also expressed interest in the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. It could replace its ageing fleet of Gypsys.
