Insider info on the Mahindra Thar 5-door: Variants & features

The Thar 5-door is expected to be offered in 3-4 variants, with features like a sunroof and 4x4 reserved for the top variants.

Mahindra is all set to debut the Thar 5-door on August 15. Here's what we can expect based on information reportedly shared by an insider.

The Thar 5-door will have a different front fascia with wider slats on the grille and LED headlamps and taillights. The rear door handle will be on the C-pillar, and the SUV will ride on 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Inside, the Thar 5-door will have a dual-tone dashboard and whitish upholstery. Given its positioning as a family car, the seats are said to be more comfortable.

According to rumours, the Thar 5-door will be available in 3-4 variants, with features like a sunroof and 4x4 reserved for the top variants. It is also expected to get electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, reading lamps for rear passengers, a 10.25-inch touchscreen paired with a 9-speaker Harman-Kardon audio system, a digital instrument cluster and an auto-dimming IRVM.

When it comes to safety features, the Thar 5-door is likely to get 6 airbags and ADAS in addition to the standard safety equipment offered on the 3-door version.
