Kawasaki Versys 650 to be launched on December 24

Earlier this year, we had reported that Kawasaki was planning to introduce the Versys 650 motorcycle in India in December. According to media reports, the bike is expected to  be launched on December 24.

The Versys 650 is an adventure tourer with a double pipe diamond frame made from high-tensile steel. It has an upside down telescopic fork suspension at the front and a single offset laydown shock absorber at the rear.

The bike measures 2,146 mm in length, 841 mm in width and 1,340 mm in height (windshield down). It has a ground clearance of 170 mm and comes with 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 120/17 and 160/60 section tyres at the front and rear respectively.

The Versys 650 is powered by a 649cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine that develops around 68 BHP and 64 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission. Stopping power is provided by dual 300 mm petal disc brakes at the front and a single 250 mm disc brake at the rear. ABS is expected to be provided as a part of standard equipment.
